Brief introduction of 8+3 theme group day activities

In order to scientifically standardize the contents and methods of students' daily ideological and political education, Inner Mongolia University of Technology issued the Implementation Plan for Students' Daily Ideological and Political Education in Grades on 1996. This plan fully considers the characteristics of ideological and political education in different semesters and grades, and divides the contents of daily ideological and political education for four-year undergraduate students into eight educational themes and three common educational themes, which are designed and implemented in a planned and focused manner every semester.

The eight major educational themes are arranged in the order of each semester of 14 grade.

Education of basic civilized behavior norms-campus traffic lights; League members' consciousness and the advanced education of the League-the national flag, party flag and League flag are in my heart; Education of outlook on life and values-my life path: labor and creative education-labor creates people; Education of National Unity and Progress-Love Inner Mongolia, Build Inner Mongolia and Dedicate Inner Mongolia.

Socialist theory and social practice education-a vast world with great achievements; The education of Marxist world outlook-the road to the growth of contemporary intellectuals: graduation education-stands at the end of university life.

Three common educational themes are: excellent class spirit, study style and school spirit construction education; Situation and policy education; Mental health education.

In this process, the Communist Youth League Committee will make overall planning, do a good job of inspection and guide the general branches of all colleges to formulate supporting implementation rules according to the teaching plan model and standards, and operate in the form of group day activities.

In order to cooperate with the "8+3" theme education, Inner Mongolia University of Technology organized "double construction" and "double standard" activities, namely, the construction of advanced league branches, advanced league branches, excellent study style classes and civilized dormitories, and formulated the "three characteristics" standards of theme group day activities, which were ideological, knowledgeable and interesting. Each semester is divided into four stages: training design, implementation observation, summary and deepening, and exchange and commendation.

"8+3" theme education activities are the concretization and systematization of patriotism, collectivism and socialism education, ideal and belief education and national conditions education, which endows the main content of ideological and political education for college students with colorful activities and gives full play to students' enthusiasm, initiative and creativity in self-management.

Every semester, the survey of the students' ideological situation shows that students generally agree with the theme of "8+3" group day activities, which have gradually changed from blind follow-up at the beginning to conscious development, positive thinking and active participation. Students have taken group day as an important compulsory course in the whole university life.
