National standard of online education technology
The National Educational Technology Standard (NETS) and the National Teacher Educational Technology Standard (NEST) were promulgated by the International Institute of Educational Technology (ISTE) in 2000, when educational informationization was advancing by leaps and bounds. It echoes the National Technical Standards for Student Education (NETS) promulgated by 1998, and is one of the series of national technical standards for education in the United States.

At the end of June, 2008, at the 29th National Education Informatization Conference (NECC2008) held in San Antonio, Texas, USA, the American Institute of International Educational Technology released the second edition of the National Educational Technology Standard (NEST) for teachers. As eSchool News website said, Nets T (2008) provides a brand-new guiding framework for teachers to use technology in the process of comprehensive transformation from industrial age to digital age. With the development of NETS T, we can see that the cultivation of American teachers' educational technology ability has moved from applied technology to digital life, work and innovation, and has become a model for students' digital existence.
