(1) Zhejiang University, founded in 1897, is located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Formerly known as an academy, it is a comprehensive national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and the Central Government of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is one of the earliest new institutions of higher learning founded by China people themselves. It was once known as "Oriental Cambridge" and ranked as "2 1 1 project".
(2) It was selected into the Everest Plan, the 20 1 1 Plan, the discipline innovation and intelligence introduction plan in colleges and universities, the education and training plan for outstanding engineers, the education and training plan for outstanding doctors, the education and training plan for outstanding legal talents, the education and training plan for outstanding agricultural and forestry talents, the scholarship institutions for international students in China, the construction of national postgraduate programs in high-level universities, and the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
