Several periods of children's painting in children's art education
The development stage of children's painting is closely related to the law of children's physical and mental development. Children's painting goes through the following stages:

First, the graffiti period (one and a half-four years old)

At this stage, children's painting will go through a process from scribbling, controlled graffiti to named graffiti. Graffiti is an uncontrolled graffiti. All kinds of graffiti include graffiti, vertical graffiti and circle painting. Children get kinesthetic experience in the process of doodling. Controlled graffiti is characterized by repeated drawing lines and smearing. Naming graffiti is to associate the graphics obtained by graffiti with something and name your graffiti with the name of this thing.

Second, the symbolic period (four-five years old)

At this stage, the drawn image replaces the physical object with a simple combination of geometric lines, with only the basic part of the physical object and no sense of wholeness. I began to have my own preference for colors, usually showing a preference for high-purity, bright and bright primary colors. In terms of composition, objects are arranged on the screen in a random and accidental way, without paying attention to the size ratio of objects, but they have begun to try to express the spatial relationship of objects.

Third, the graphic period (conceptualization period, stereotypes period) (five to eight years old)

In modeling, children like to use lines to describe the outline of the body, use smoother lines to express the overall image of the object, and also use some details to express the characteristics of the object. In the aspect of color, objects can be colored according to their inherent colors, and the ability to express emotions with colors is significantly improved. When coloring, you can not only paint evenly, but also draw no outline. In composition, I began to pay attention to the proportion of objects, but I still couldn't grasp the proportion. Sometimes I exaggerate the impressive objects, and there is a certain connection between the images, which basically reflects the theme.

Fourth, the realistic period (8-15 years old)

From the age of nine and a half, children began to observe like adults, and their painting methods began to change to realistic methods, and they began to pay attention to the quality of their own works, sometimes denying their past paintings and gradually paying attention to the realism of the objects depicted. Love to appreciate works with strong three-dimensional sense, rich light and shade changes and strong color realism.
