Professor Sudan has devoted himself to the research of contemporary art design education for many years and has achieved fruitful results. In the report, Professor Sultan scientifically interprets how China's art and design education should break through the traditional dilemma and realistic dilemma with an international vision, a large number of detailed materials and years of research achievements devoted to contemporary design education, and then establishes the development direction of China's contemporary design education by constructing design theory with contemporary spirit and pioneering design practice. In his report, Professor Sultan expounded the importance and urgency of curriculum construction of design education, and expounded the educational concept that "the classroom is bigger than the sky" clearly put forward by Tsinghua University at present. He emphasized that the "course" of design should start with details, and put forward that the "course" of design should be practical, discussion, critical, interactive, democratic, open and on-site from the comparison of traditional, modern and design courses. He briefly introduced the curriculum design of many top international art colleges, and proposed that the curriculum design of contemporary design education should start from the goal of cultivating high-end technical talents, combine creativity with criticism, and cultivate students' rational design concept through interdisciplinary creative thinking training.
Professor Sultan is currently the vice president of interior design of China Architecture Society, a member of the Environmental Art Committee of China Artists Association, and the director of the Environmental Architecture Art Consulting Institute of Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts. The main research directions are contemporary design education, aesthetics and contemporary art in contemporary design, and contemporary creative industries. Professor Sudan has made outstanding academic achievements. In recent years, he has presided over many national key design projects and published many monographs. Professor Sultan is also a famous academic activist and curator. He has presided over the 20-year theme forum of interior design in China and the exchange activities between Chinese and European artists.
