The school attaches great importance to cultivating distinctive campus culture. Students won the first prize of the National College Students' Art Exhibition for six consecutive years, and won 17 national prizes in the national "Challenge Cup" and "Creating Youth" competitions. "Tuanfeng Innovation and Entrepreneurship Team" was named "Xiaoping Science and Technology Innovation Team" by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League.

1983 was renamed Jilin Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. 65438-0987 With the approval of the former State Education Commission, Jilin University of Technology, Jilin Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Changchun Foreign Studies College and Changchun Vocational College were merged to form Changchun University. In 2000, the original Jilin Forestry School merged.

The major covers ten disciplines, including economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, agronomy, medicine, management, art, etc. There are two national-level specialty and eight provincial-level specialty.
