Hefei City University, founded in 1999, is an undergraduate college located in Shushan District, Hefei City, Anhui Province. The school was formerly the Hefei Municipal People's Government Cadre School. At present, the school has four teaching units: Civil Engineering College, Architectural Art College, Electromechanical Engineering College and Economic Management College, and two teaching departments: Basic Teaching Department and Ideological and Political Education Research Office. There are 34 undergraduate majors (30 enrollment majors), which belong to engineering, management and art, and basically form a discipline system with engineering as the main body, civil engineering as the feature, and the coordinated development of engineering, management and art.

Software engineering major is one of the main majors of Information Engineering College of Hefei City University. Based on the knowledge of computer science and technology and software engineering, this major has a high level in cultivating students' ability of software requirements analysis, design, development and maintenance.
