Suzhou Xiong Jian Vocational and Technical College has been kindly cared and guided by Dr. Yuan Jialiu, the husband of Dr. Wu Jianxiong and a famous physicist (19 12-2003). Today, the college covers an area of more than 700 mu, with a total construction area of1.2000 square meters. The campus has pleasant scenery, reasonable layout and advanced facilities. There are teaching units such as School of Electrical Engineering, School of Software and Service Outsourcing, Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Modern Port and Logistics Management, Department of Applied Foreign Languages, Department of Biochemistry, Department of Art and Design, Vocational Quality Education Center, Career Development Center, Continuing Education College, and Joint Graduate School (jointly run with 8 universities including Southeast University and Suzhou University).
The college has more than 6,000 students and 265 full-time teachers, including 67 with associate senior titles or above.
Sino-German Vocational and Technical Education and Training Center and Taicang Xiong Jian Service Outsourcing Talent Training Base have become well-known talent training bases in the Yangtze River Delta. The college became the first batch of "provincial service outsourcing talent training bases". Becoming the first batch of provincial training bases for service outsourcing talents is not only an affirmation of "Taicang Xiong Jian Training Base for Service Outsourcing Talents", but also a new starting point and new impetus to promote the further development of the College. In 2008, the national college students' employability assessment of logistics jobs was carried out nationwide. In the six-day intense finals, the college team won the second place in the national finals, far ahead of the other five universities in Jiangsu, and won unanimous praise from experts from china association of employment promotion, the National Professional Qualification Appraisal Logistics Expert Committee and national counterparts.

The second phase of the college includes Sino-German vocational education and training center, service outsourcing talent training center and foreign language training center, which are under construction. Since the upgrading of Suzhou Xiong Jian Vocational and Technical College [1], the college has initially established a school-running system with full-time higher vocational education as the main body, supplemented by adult education, five-year compulsory education of RTVU, open education, distance education, joint professional postgraduate education and vocational qualification training.
