College is the authorized point of doctor, master and bachelor degree, and the first authorized unit of nursing master degree in South China. At present, it mainly recruits nursing students, and has trained a large number of outstanding nursing talents for all parts of the country, becoming an important base for training nursing talents in South China. In 2005, nursing specialty was rated as a famous brand specialty in Guangdong Province.

The college consists of 4 teaching and research sections and 2 centers. Excellent school conditions and complete infrastructure can fully meet the needs of teaching and scientific research; At present, there are 26 full-time teachers, 4 associate professors 1 person, 5 doctoral supervisors 1 person, and more than 80% of them have doctoral or master's degrees.1teacher enjoys special government allowance, undertakes more than 20 fund projects, obtains more than 20 provincial scientific research achievements, and publishes nearly 30 textbooks and monographs. At present, the School of Nursing of Southern Medical University is in the leading position in Guangdong Province and even South China in many aspects, such as school conditions, education quality and scientific research achievements.

The college actively runs schools abroad. We have established friendly and cooperative relations with the University of Hong Kong, the University of Massachusetts, the University of Texas, the University of Iowa, Centennial College and university of tasmania.
