Ankang University is the only provincial full-time general public undergraduate college in Ankang. Its main task is to cultivate applied talents with high comprehensive quality and innovative spirit. Its predecessor was Ankang College, which was founded in 1958. 1963 closed due to national economic difficulties and resumed in August 1978. 1984 was renamed Ankang Teachers College with the approval of Shaanxi Provincial People's Government in June, and was transformed into Ankang College with the approval of the Ministry of Education in February, 2006.
There are two campuses in Jiangnan and Jiangbei, covering an area of 8 13 mu, with a school building area of 343,000 square meters. There are 993,500 kinds of paper books, 654.38+002 kinds of electronic books and 365,438+02 kinds of Chinese newspapers and periodicals. The school has 890 teaching and administrative staff, including 654 full-time teachers, 255 teachers with senior titles, 674 teachers with doctor's and master's degrees, and 235 teachers with "double-qualification" and industrial engineering background. 125 teachers, including academicians, well-known domestic experts and scholars and management technicians of industrial enterprises, are chief experts, visiting professors and part-time teachers, and are employed as tutors and masters of other schools.
