What is stem education?
STEM education refers to teaching and learning in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

STEM science lies in understanding the world and explaining the objective laws of nature. Technology and engineering transform the world on the basis of respecting the laws of nature, realize harmonious coexistence with nature and solve problems encountered in the process of social development; Mathematics is the basic tool of technology and engineering.

STEM course focuses on strengthening the education of students in four aspects: first, scientific literacy, that is, using scientific knowledge (such as physics, chemistry, biological science and geospace science) to understand nature and participate in the process of influencing nature.

The second is technical literacy, that is, the ability to use, manage, understand and evaluate technology; The third is engineering literacy, that is, understanding the design and development process of technical engineering; Fourthly, mathematical literacy, that is, students' ability to find, express, explain and solve mathematical problems in various situations.

As a course and teaching method, STEM promotes cooperative exploration and solution of practical problems by applying conceptual knowledge and skills of different disciplines. The main purpose of the United States is to improve the competitiveness of scientific and technological development and help students better prepare for the future. In the late 1990s, it was first adopted by some pioneering projects of science education of the National Science Foundation of the United States.

Basic mode of STEM teaching:

1, STEM is the abbreviation.

2.STEM is composed of different disciplines.

3. Science is the background-other fields contribute to science.

4. Engineering is the background-application and construction are the most important.

5.STEM is a process similar to engineering design, and science, technology and mathematics are its components.

6. Solving real-world problems is the core of STEM education, making the best preparation for students to go to college and find jobs.

7, the use of science and engineering design is equivalent, can not be used alone.

8. Integrating all fields of STEM are connected in a complex relationship, which is the most subtle mode.
