Xu Lei was born in 1 1963. Professor, doctoral supervisor, cross-century outstanding talents of the Ministry of Education. 1990 Fudan university received a doctorate. He is the deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Photonics Materials and Devices, the vice chairman of the Shanghai Laser Society, the member of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Spectroscopy and Spectroscopy of the Ministry of Education, and the member of the Photophysics Professional Committee of the Chinese Physical Society. 1993- 1994 postdoctoral fellow of Japan Federation of Students. 1996 won the outstanding young teachers fund of the State Education Commission, 1997 won the outstanding young teachers of Shanghai universities, and 1997 won the cross-century outstanding talents fund of the Ministry of Education. In 2000, he was elected to the Berkeley Scholar Program at the University of California, Berkeley.
