At present, the college has nine undergraduate majors and master's degree programs in the first-level discipline of physical education, covering four disciplines: pedagogy, literature, management and art. There are five provincial majors, three provincial-level professional comprehensive reform pilots, 1 provincial key disciplines, 1 provincial teaching team, two provincial-level excellent courses and two provincial-level excellent courses on ideological and political theory.

Zheng Da Institute of Physical Education is the only higher physical education institution in Henan Province, with a bachelor's degree level and a deputy department level specification. The provincial sports bureau is in charge, and the business work is led by the provincial education department. Its predecessor was Henan Institute of Physical Education, which was founded in 1958. 1962 closed due to national economic difficulties. 1984, Henan Institute of Sports Technology; 1992 was merged into Zhengzhou University and renamed as Physical Education College of Zhengzhou University (with independent legal personality).
The college headquarters is located at No.2 Yinhe Street, Huiji District, and Dengfeng Campus is located at No.0/46 Dayu Road, Dengfeng City, with a total area of 720 mu and a school building area of more than 200,000 ㎡. At present, Tai Chi Chuan College and Wenxian Training Base, covering an area of more than 500 mu, are under construction in Wenxian.
