Beijing Institute of Technology is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, focusing on science and engineering, with the coordinated development of engineering, science, management and literature. It is one of the first batch of key construction universities in China's "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project" and a member of "Sino-Russian Union of Engineering Universities". It has been selected into "11plan", "20 1 1 plan", "excellent engineer education and training plan" and "national public postgraduate plan for building high-level universities". It is a medium-level university with a graduate school. [1] The school's predecessor, Beijing Institute of Technology, originated from Yan 'an Academy of Natural Sciences. 1940 was founded in Yan 'an, and it was the first university of science and engineering founded by China. 1988, the school was renamed Beijing Institute of Technology.
