The National Computer Rank Examination (hereinafter referred to as NCRE) is a national computer proficiency examination system approved by the former State Education Commission (now the Ministry of Education) and sponsored by the Examination Center of the Ministry of Education, which is geared to the society and used to examine the computer application knowledge and skills of non-computer major candidates.

The NCRE exam adopts the form of national unified proposition and unified examination. All subjects are tested twice a year. Generally speaking, March is the penultimate Saturday, September is the penultimate Saturday, and the exam lasts for 5 days.

Applicants are not restricted by age, occupation, education, etc. Anyone can choose the corresponding grades and subjects according to their own learning situation and actual ability.
