During the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Lunan Railway Corps (named Flying Tigers after the adaptation of the novel), which was active in Jining, Zaozhuang, was established in July of 1940, and its main activities were in the Han Zhuang-Yanzhou section of Linzhou Railway and Jinpu Railway. Lincheng is the junction of Linzhou and Jinpu railway, the activity center of railway brigade and the main defensive position of Japanese aggressor troops. The Flying Tigers have been dealing with Japanese invaders here for five years. They engaged in intelligence, arrested traitors, intercepted trains, hit foreign firms, bombed railways, destroyed bridges, and fought more than a hundred times, like the Monkey King in the belly of an iron fan princess, who frightened the Japanese aggressors day and night, as the song goes, "... only killed the devils."
