Wendeng Martyrs Cemetery is located in Wendeng District, Weihai City. Wendeng has a glorious revolutionary tradition. 1935, the famous Tianfu Mountain Uprising took place, which fired the first shot of Jiaodong's armed resistance to Japan and established the Shandong People's Anti-Japanese Salvation Army. There were 7,778 martyrs in Wendeng, including more than 400 famous martyrs. Among them, Zhang, secretary of the CPC Jiaodong Special Committee, was selected as the first batch of 300 famous anti-Japanese heroes announced by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. To commemorate the martyrs, the cemetery was built in 1952, covering an area of 77,000 square meters, including revolutionary martyrs' monument, memorial hall and martyrs' tomb. , buried 146 martyrs. The cemetery is a provincial martyrs memorial facility protection unit, a national defense education base and a patriotic education base in Shandong Province.
