Music appreciation teaching is an integral part of basic education and an important way to implement aesthetic education. It plays an irreplaceable role in cultivating sentiment, cultivating innovative spirit and practical ability, improving cultural literacy and aesthetic ability, improving physical and mental health, and promoting the all-round development of students' morality, intelligence, physique and beauty. Music appreciation teaching gives students a beautiful feeling, which is the main purpose of the whole music appreciation teaching.

Young college students can't all have good singing skills, high playing skills and strong reading ability. Students can't all be musicians, but everyone has the right to enjoy music. They all have the need of art appreciation and the right to participate in art appreciation activities and get aesthetic pleasure.

How to make students enjoy beauty from music appreciation and how to make students enjoy music through music appreciation and have fun from it is the pursuit of music teachers. In the teaching process of music appreciation course in recent five years, the author has accumulated some experience, made bold innovations and tried some teaching reforms initially.

First, the reform of teaching methods

The traditional teaching method of music appreciation class is that the teacher speaks and the students listen with their ears. Mainly rely on the teacher's knowledge about music to help students understand the connotation of the music they appreciate. This teaching method has been circulated for many years. Its advantages are high teaching efficiency and good classroom order. However, there are also some shortcomings, for example, the classroom atmosphere is rather dull, students' enthusiasm for learning is not high, and they can't concentrate while enjoying music.

In view of this situation, the author has made bold innovations in teaching methods, so that students can not only listen to music with their ears, but also learn to feel music with their hearts and express the charm of music with language. Whether physically or psychologically, college students are in the active period of youth, and they all have their own unique views and personality pursuits on music. Teachers should not only be simple narrators in class, but also be correct guides. Students should be actively encouraged, no matter how complicated music is, it is the expression of the soul. Let them try to listen wholeheartedly, taste carefully, imagine boldly, communicate sincerely, turn music into language and describe the spiritual experience that music brings them. This not only improves students' ability to feel music art, but also trains students' language expression ability. More importantly, students cultivate their sentiments and improve their artistic accomplishment and taste while exchanging feelings.

Second, the expansion of teaching content

The reason why classic music tracks can become classics must have its unique charm. However, when we step into the new century, we can't help looking back and looking forward to the future. The changes in the 20th century and the last century are dizzying. In the field of music, people are so surprised and confused, yearning and expecting, confused and puzzled when faced with colorful, unconventional and dazzling modern music.

Classicism and romanticism have developed the sensory expression of music to the extreme, and the existing traditional means of expression of music language have almost dried up. At this time, it is inevitable to create new artistic concepts and new musical languages. On the basis of classical music and romantic music classics, this paper tries to expand the theme and content of music and add more fresh music forms with the characteristics of the times, such as pop music, national music, musicals and movie music.

The content of traditional music appreciation textbooks is relatively old, which obviously cannot meet the increasingly updated appreciation requirements of today's college students. Judging from the law of people's physical and mental development, college students are in the fastest period of physical and mental development. They are full of feelings, lively and active, their inner life tends to be complicated, and their aesthetic psychology tends to be romantic. This psychological feature makes them have a great love for art and a stronger demand for art appreciation. Therefore, on the basis of these classical music, students can not only enjoy traditional classical music, but also meet the requirements of the times to pursue fashion and keep up with the trend. Find the pop music that best represents the characteristics of the times, help students analyze the charm of music works in the process of appreciation, stimulate their interest in pursuing appreciation, and improve students' love for art and life.

Third, the innovation of evaluation methods.

Music appreciation course, as an elective course, adopts the traditional way of writing papers in the assessment. However, this assessment method has disadvantages that are very unfavorable to students' development. Students usually download plagiarized papers from the internet, and few students can really write their own opinions, so the assessment effect is not ideal.

In view of this phenomenon, the author first changed the assessment method to closed-book examination. The so-called closed-book exam is a mode in which teachers give questions, print papers and students answer questions with closed books. However, this course itself is an elective course, and the assessment effect of students is still not ideal. Finally, the author changed the examination method to listening, distinguishing and appreciating. The so-called listening test, similar to the English listening test, takes music as an examination question for students to appreciate, and then writes their own understanding of music tracks. The reformed assessment model is more in line with students' actual ability and plays a great role in improving students' humanistic quality. This assessment method is also very popular with students. Teachers can understand the students' mastery of music appreciation courses and the different understanding levels of each student, which is more simple and direct, and the effect is very good.

In a word, try boldly, let the students turn what they have learned into creative skills, let the wonderful music really blend into every student's heart, and add more fun to their study life.
