Huzhu Tu Autonomous County governs 8 towns, 9 townships and 2 ethnic townships with a total population of 370,000 (20 1 1 year). It is the only autonomous county of Tu nationality in China, with the largest and most concentrated number of Tu nationality, mainly Han nationality, accounting for 17% of the total population, as well as Tibetans, Hui, Mongolians and Salars.
