Ideological and political education is both important and difficult to do, especially under the condition of market economy, China's ideological and political work is relatively weak and can not meet the requirements of modern social development. There are many reasons for the ineffectiveness of ideological and political work. But one of the important reasons is that we have long neglected personality education and cultivation. I think personality education is the basis of ideological and political education. Without this foundation, ideological and political education, like rootless duckweed, always floats on the surface of people's thoughts and cannot go deep. The reasons are as follows: First, personality is the stable psychological basis for the formation of life values. People's values must be unified and stable. This requires a person's psychological process and personality form to be unified and stable. Otherwise, a divided personality can only produce the concept of division. Second, personality is the internal psychological basis for forming a specific world outlook and outlook on life. World outlook is the understanding of the world. Although the correct world outlook comes from the correct theoretical guidance and study, it is difficult to instill external ideas without a benign personality form as the internal psychological basis. Third, personality is the main driving force for the formation of specific moral qualities. Personality has qualitative characteristics. Generally speaking, the contents of personality education and cultivation mainly include the following aspects: First, the cultivation of daily habits, including daily behaviors and words of walking, sitting and lying. Good daily habits are the basis of good morality. The concept of "etiquette" in traditional culture in daily life education is the requirement of developing good habits. The second is the cultivation of lifestyle, including the attitude towards food, clothing, housing and transportation and cleanliness. The cultivation of healthy lifestyle is the beginning of the formation of healthy values and outlook on life. In this respect, we should educate people to develop a simple, thrifty, indifferent and healthy lifestyle, and oppose and abandon extravagant, decadent, wasteful and excessive life concepts. Third, the cultivation of psychological tendency is mainly the cultivation of extroversion or introversion. Generally speaking, extroverted psychological tendency is easy to accept new things, while introverted psychological tendency is easy to seek common ground steadily, but it has the shortcomings of rigidity and inflexibility. Good psychological orientation education should probably seek a "neutral" state between the two. Therefore, we must fundamentally change the methods of personality cultivation and ideological and moral education in order to give full play to the advantages and benefits of ideological and political education. Here are only a few methods that should be paid attention to from the perspective of personality cultivation, so as to arouse everyone's thinking: First, personality education must be carried out by combining external indoctrination with the development of human consciousness.
