Jiancha Town covers an area of 62.5 square kilometers and governs 10 administrative villages, 9 1 villagers' groups and 1 community neighborhood committees. By the end of 2005, the total population of the town was 33,383, including 32,359 agricultural and non-agricultural people 1034. It is a typical agricultural town in hilly areas.

Jiancha Town has basically built five agricultural industrial bases, such as loquat, pear, peach, bamboo shoots and pollution-free vegetables, and is known as "green Jiancha". Ousheng Food Company settled in this town, engaged in the processing of edible fungi and bamboo shoots. Fried tea is a deep processing enterprise relying on five industrial bases.
Shale building materials industry is the second major feature of fried tea. Jiancha Town is rich in shale resources, and now has 7 shale brick factories with an annual production capacity of over 654.38 billion.
