Is anesthesiology easy to learn?
? As a medical student, but my major is clinical medicine, I also considered anesthesiology when I chose my major. The problem that anesthesia is difficult to learn well may only be known through personal experience. It can only be said that the road to studying medicine is long and there is no end to learning.

? I have been exposed to anesthesia during my internship, and I have also been exposed to some students and teachers of anesthesiology. Generally speaking, my feeling about anesthesiology is that I am tired, and the study of the subject will not be very easy.

? The research scope of anesthesiology is wider than other disciplines. If you choose anesthesia, you should devote more time and energy to study (of course, as long as you choose medicine, you should be prepared for lifelong learning). Anesthesiology can be said to be one of the departments with the widest coverage. In addition to studying all the subjects of clinical medicine at the same level, you should also study anesthesiology.

Why take more courses? The reasons are as follows: first, as an anesthesiologist, you should have a minimum understanding of various test results and reports, which requires a solid knowledge of medical laboratory science;

Secondly, the anesthesiology department requires extremely high ability to read ECG, which is related to the monitoring of patients during surgery and the prevention of possible accidents, and requires comprehensive medical knowledge;

Thirdly, in anesthesiology, many invasive operations, such as nerve block, arteriovenous puncture, catheterization, etc., depend on ultrasonic positioning to a certain extent and require certain interventional imaging;

Fourth, during the operation, we should always pay attention to the patient's vital signs, but also observe the operator's behavior and pay attention to the operation that may cause traction reflex. Experienced anesthesiologists will predict the operation that the operator will perform in advance to control the stable heart rate and blood pressure, which in turn needs to remember all the operation procedures.

So is anesthesia easy to learn? As a medical student, I think all medical subjects are difficult to learn, but I can't go to school with the mentality of not failing the subjects until graduation. You have a fresh life, you can't slack off. In China, the employment prospect of anesthesiology is still good, but it is limited to the difficulty of employment, because there is a shortage of anesthesiologists in China, and generally you can find a good hospital when you come out. But the status of anesthesia in China is not high. Compared with foreign countries, the future depends on the development of the medical industry.

? In a word, all kinds of things that anesthesiology needs to learn are complicated and essential, which is more tiring than other clinical departments. If you want to choose anesthesia as your major, you must be mentally and physically prepared, no less than a surgeon!
