What does 985 University mean?
985 University, namely "985 Engineering University" proposed by1May 1998, is an "Action Plan for Education Revitalization Facing 2 1 Century" formulated by the Ministry of Education. Because it was put forward in May of 1998, it is also called "985 Project", aiming at creating some universities with world-class teaching ability and focusing on cultivating talents at home and abroad.
The 985 project is divided into two phases, with a total of 39 colleges and universities, among which colleges and universities can be divided into three batches according to the time of selection, including 35 in the first phase, 9 in the first batch, 26 in the second batch and 4 in the second phase, with a total of 39 colleges and universities.
