Nanjing Education Bureau is under the dual leadership of Jiangsu Education Department and Nanjing Municipal Government. In case of violation, Nanjing Municipal Government and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education have the right to manage.

Nanjing Education Bureau is the working department of Nanjing Municipal People's Government. The Education Working Committee of Nanjing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Municipal Education Bureau are co-located, and a set of names of working institutions and two organs are implemented.
