According to the website of Benxi Education Bureau, as of June 3, 2024, there were two universities in Benxi, Liaoning Province, namely Liaoning Institute of Science and Technology and Liaoning Metallurgical Vocational and Technical College. University of Science and Technology Liaoning is a provincial general undergraduate college with engineering as the main subject and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. Liaoning Metallurgical Vocational and Technical College is a provincial full-time ordinary higher vocational school approved by the Liaoning Provincial People's Government, put on record by the Ministry of Education and organized by Benxi Iron and Steel Group.
