The Law School has a complete curriculum system for undergraduate, master and doctoral students, and has become one of the first four universities in China to be awarded the doctorate of 1985 in international economic law (the other three are Peking University, Wuhan University and Xiamen University). 1997, the international law of our college was selected as the first batch of "2 1 1 engineering" key construction disciplines in China. In 2002, the major of international law was approved as a "national key discipline" by the Ministry of Education, and it is one of the only two national key disciplines in university of international business and economics. In September 2003, the Ministry of Education approved the law school to set up a postdoctoral mobile station in international law. In 2006, the major of civil and commercial law in our college was awarded as a key discipline in Beijing. In 2007, the Law School was awarded the "Characteristic Internationalized Legal Talents Construction Point" by the Ministry of Education and the "National Bilingual Teaching Demonstration Point" by the Ministry of Education. In 2009, the Law School was approved to build the Beijing Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center-"International Commercial Arbitration Experimental Teaching Center". 20 1 1 Law School was awarded the first-class discipline of doctor of law. In 20 12, the first-class discipline of law in our college was approved as a key discipline in Beijing. At the same time, the law school was successfully selected as the first batch of excellent legal talents education and training bases in China, and was approved as "applied and compound legal professionals education and training base" and "foreign legal talents education and training base". On 20 12, the law school was also successfully approved by the Ministry of Education's undergraduate teaching project "Professional Comprehensive Reform Pilot".
The law school aims at cultivating senior legal talents with international vision and has a high-level faculty. Professor Shen Daming and Professor Feng Datong, the sages, founded a characteristic discipline of national commercial law with wide influence at home and abroad, which laid the necessary foundation for the development of law school. Professor Prof Shen, the former president, is a member of the third, fourth and fifth legal review groups of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee. He is currently a member of the Social Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and the president of china law society International Economic and Trade Law Research Association. In 2006, he was rated as a national-level teaching teacher by the Ministry of Education. Professor Wang Jun, the former president, was a member of the Sixth Jury of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, vice president of china law society International Economic and Trade Law Research Association and a famous Beijing teacher.
Professor Shi, the current president, obtained a doctorate in law from Yale University in the United States and a doctorate in international economic law from Wuhan University in China. He was elected as a member of the Steering Committee of Law Teaching of the Ministry of Education and a member of the Board of Directors of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDRIOT) in Rome, and won many honorary titles such as the 7th "Top Ten Outstanding Young Jurists in China". He was rated as an outstanding talent of the Ministry of Education in the new century, and won the National Hundred Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Awards, the National Outstanding Achievement Award of Humanities and Social Sciences in Colleges and Universities, and the Qian Duansheng Legal Research Achievement Award.
The doctoral degree rate of law school teachers is over 90%, and a considerable number of teachers are studying or further studying in famous foreign law schools, including Yale Law School, Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School, University of Michigan Law School, and University of California, Berkeley Law School. In recent years, law school teachers have made great achievements in scientific research, and have successfully won more than 20 national social science fund projects and more than 50 provincial and ministerial projects. A group of young and middle-aged scholars stand out and play an increasingly important academic leading role in the law session. In addition, the Law School has hired some famous foreign law schools and law firms as foreign teachers, honorary professors or visiting professors, such as Professor Zhang Yuexiao, Justice of the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization, and Mr. matthew kennedy, an Australian who has worked in the World Trade Organization for 13 years.
Over the past 30 years, law schools have their own professional characteristics in student training, and always pay attention to learning from the practices of brother colleges. Law school has trained a large number of high-quality foreign-related economic and trade legal talents for the society. In addition to going abroad for further study, their employment is mainly distributed in top law firms at home and abroad, state administrative organs, judicial organs, well-known foreign companies and other industries or units, and they are mostly engaged in foreign-related economic and trade-related businesses. Dr. Gao Xiqing, former general manager of China Investment Company, Dr. Qian Feng, President of Chongqing Higher People's Court, Dr. Wang Lingjun, Vice Governor of Qinghai Province, Dr. the Supreme People's Court, Director of Anti-monopoly Bureau of Ministry of Commerce, Dr. Jiao Jinhong, Director of Shenzhen Securities Regulatory Bureau of China Securities Regulatory Commission, and Secretary-General Yu of China International Economic and Trade Commission are all outstanding graduates trained by our college. There are also some deans of law schools in colleges and universities, and partners of first-class law firms also graduated from our college.
Law schools always attach importance to cultivating students' innovative ability, practical ability and professional quality. In addition to classroom teaching, various measures are taken to continuously expand the practice base and create good practice opportunities for students as much as possible. Our long-term internship units include the Ministry of Commerce and other national ministries and commissions, China Development Bank, AVIC Group, Huawei and other large state-owned enterprises and private enterprises, as well as top law firms at home and abroad such as Meimaisi, Zhong Da, Puheng, Gao, Anli, Kindu, Jincheng Tongda. Most of them provide various internship opportunities for our outstanding students by cooperating with law schools and setting up scholarships.
As an important measure to build a training base for foreign-related legal talents, the law school has set up an "experimental class with international characteristics", and hired high-level foreign experts to offer special courses for students, focusing on improving their English writing, speaking and analytical skills. Law schools attach importance to students' participation in various international mock competitions. For example, on February 28th, 20 14, in the Asia-Pacific competition of12 "Elsa-WTO Simulation Trial", students from our college became the only team in Chinese mainland to advance to the quarter-finals. On February 20 14, students from our college won the first place in the national group and the third place in the whole country in the 12 Jessup International Law Moot (English) Debate Competition. Law school has always attached importance to internationalization, especially the international academic exchange of teachers and the overseas study experience of students. For a long time, the Law School has maintained a stable communication relationship with Columbia University, Duke University, Georgetown University, University of Wisconsin, University of Connecticut, loyola University and Law School of Westeast University in the United States. We also maintain close exchange visits with universities and research institutions in Italy, Spain, Israel and other countries, and send students to study with each other. In recent years, the Law School has also sponsored many students to practice in overseas institutions such as the Ministry of Agriculture of the World Trade Organization, the Michigan Court of the United States, the Cambodia Office of the Heinrich Burr Foundation, and the BIP Company of Hong Kong. The Law School attaches great importance to the education of international students, has trained a number of international students, and has set up a master's and doctoral program in English on "China Law and International Law".
