Quality education refers to an educational model aimed at improving the quality of the educated in all aspects. It attaches importance to people's ideological and moral quality, ability training, personality development, physical health and mental health education. Quality education and exam-oriented education are corresponding, but they are not absolutely opposite concepts, because they are not antonyms in meaning.
At the beginning of the new century, knowledge economy has emerged, and the competition between science and technology and economy, especially talents, is becoming increasingly fierce around the world. The strength of national strength depends more and more on the quality of workers and the quality and quantity of all kinds of talents. Education is in a basic position in the formation of comprehensive national strength and bears the heavy responsibility of cultivating high-quality talents.
"The rise and fall of the national movement depends on education, and it is the responsibility of the whole people to revitalize education." Facing the challenge of knowledge economy, we clearly realize that there is still a big gap between the current education system, structure, talent training mode, teaching content and teaching methods and the training of innovative talents needed by modernization. The actual education is not satisfactory. Some teachers and even principals still think that quality education is not easy to operate and implement, so the work still stays in shouting slogans, going through the motions and putting on a show. Constrained by the idea of "exam-oriented education", many schools still have problems such as one-sided pursuit of enrollment rate, heavy academic burden, and only paying attention to intellectual education while ignoring other aspects of education; Affect the all-round development of children. Therefore, it is an arduous and urgent strategic task for us educators to strengthen our understanding of the thought of quality education.
The difference between quality education and "exam-oriented education";
First, the goal of quality education is to improve the national quality; The goal of "exam-oriented education" is "teaching for exams and learning for exams". Under the guidance of this goal, even if the quality of some students can be objectively developed at a shallow level, it can only be one-sided at the expense of other aspects of development.
Second, quality education aims at improving the national quality and must be geared to all students and every future citizen; "Exam-oriented education" focuses on a few students who are expected to enter higher education, ignoring most students, and even labeling normal children as "mentally retarded" so that they are not included in the score statistics.
Thirdly, in order to improve the national quality, quality education emphasizes that educators should give full play to their creative spirit, design and organize scientific education and teaching activities from the reality of the school, and promote the educated to actively internalize the influence of external education into their stable physical and mental quality in their independent activities; "Examination-oriented education" makes educators follow the baton of examination step by step, and the basic characteristics of teaching methods are indoctrination, preaching and passive acceptance.
