Chengdu University, located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is a comprehensive university jointly established by Sichuan Province and Chengdu, and a key construction university in Chengdu. It is a characteristic university of national defense education of the Ministry of Education and an authorized construction unit of doctoral degree in Sichuan Province.

Chengdu University has been selected into "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" of the Ministry of Education, Sichuan 20 1 1 Plan, Sichuan Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan, Sichuan Excellent Teacher Education and Training Plan, and Sichuan Model University for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform.
