Dengfeng City is located in the central and western parts of Henan Province, at the southern foot of Songshan Mountain in Zhongyue. China's first dynasty, the Xia Dynasty, made Yangcheng its capital, which was successful in Dengfeng. "Dengfeng" and "Chenggong" were named after Wu Zetian's "Dengsongshan" and "Fengzhongyue" in 696 AD. Songyang County was changed to Dengfeng County, Yangcheng County was changed to Gaocheng County, and the Jin Dynasty merged the two counties into Dengfeng County, 65438+. Shaolin Temple is the ancestral home of Zen Buddhism, Zhongyue Temple is the largest Taoist temple among the five mountains, and Songyang Academy is the place where Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi gave lectures in the Northern Song Dynasty and one of the birthplaces of Neo-Confucianism in the Song and Ming Dynasties.
