April 15, 2023 is the eighth National Safety Education Day. The theme of this year's National Security Education Day is "Implementing the overall national security concept, enhancing the national security awareness and literacy of the whole people, and consolidating the social foundation for ensuring a new development pattern with a new security pattern".

National Security Education Day is a festival to enhance national security awareness and safeguard national security. On July 1 2065438, the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) passed Article 14 of the National Security Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), and designated April 15 as the National Security Education Day for all.

The most important practical significance of establishing National Security Education Day in the National Security Law is to mobilize the government and the whole society to participate in the work of safeguarding national security. Maintaining national security is closely related to everyone's vital interests, and taking people's safety as the purpose is also the core value of the "overall national security concept". Only when everyone participates and everyone is responsible can national security truly gain a huge popular base and have a solid institutional guarantee.

The National Security Law sets up the National Security Education Day for all, in order to popularize the national security knowledge to the public, and play a good publicity effect in a short time, so that more people can get in touch with and understand the national security legal knowledge, especially how to perform the duties and obligations of safeguarding national security according to law.
