Brief introduction of Thai Qiu Shuang
Tai Qiu Shuang (1897— 1976), a native of Dongtai, Jiangsu, was a modern educator in China. Born into a poor scholarly family. He studied in Jiangsu Provincial Fifth Normal University and Nanjing Higher Normal University (Southeast University), studied in the United States from 65438 to 0923, and studied at the University of Chicago and Columbia University. 1927 After returning to China, he successively served as professor of Nanjing No.4 Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou Sun Yat-sen University and Henan University, director of education department of Jinan University, dean of education college of Daxia University, chairman of China Minsheng Education Society, dean of China Minsheng Construction Experimental College, and member of wartime education committee of the Ministry of Education of the National Government. After 1949, he served as a professor at Fu Jen Catholic University and Beijing Normal University. 265438+During the 1930s and 1940s, Tai strongly advocated people's livelihood education, and conducted people's livelihood education experiments in rural areas such as Shanghai and Chongqing for more than ten years. Dai was the first initiator of Teacher's Day in China, and he, together with Yan, Liang and Tao Xingzhi, was called the four eccentrics of education in China.
