The School of Special Education of Chongqing Normal University was formerly the Children's Intelligence Development Research Center of Chongqing Normal University, which was established in 1988. With the support of China Disabled Persons' Federation and Chongqing Municipal People's Government, the college was established in 2003, and it is the only special education college in western China. The college has a strong research, discipline and social service platform: in 2000, the Key Laboratory of Psychological Diagnosis and Educational Technology for Special Children, a key laboratory of Chongqing universities, was established; 200 1, the professional degree of master of special education was formally established; In 2004, Chongqing Rehabilitation Research and Training Base for Disabled Children was established. In 2005, we began to recruit undergraduates with special education and hearing impairment. In 2006, "special education" became the key construction discipline in Chongqing. In 2007, we established a training base for key teachers of special education in Chongqing. In 2008, our college joined the International Pen Club.

The college currently has 0/8 faculty members, including 5 full-time teachers, 4 professors, 4 postdoctoral, doctoral and doctoral students, and 8 masters. "Special Education" undergraduate major is a characteristic major of Chongqing Normal University, which has two directions: recruiting special education information and resources for hearing-impaired students and training special children's psychology and education for special education teachers. At present, there are 158 undergraduates, including 46 with hearing disability. Postgraduate majors include special education curriculum and teaching theory, psychology and education of children with developmental disabilities, special education information and technical resources, individual differences and school consultation, and 24 graduate students are studying. In the past three years, the college has built two Chongqing-level excellent courses and 1 school-level excellent courses, and won the first prize of Chongqing 1 teaching achievement.

The duration of special education is three years. Cultivate clinical special education teachers who have basic knowledge of humanities and social sciences, psychology, psychology of special children and education of special children, and have the ability to engage in education, training and rehabilitation services for special children in special education schools, classes and institutions. The main courses offered are: introduction to special education, curriculum and teaching theory of special education, professional ethics training of special education, pathological basis of disabled children, psychological measurement and consultation of special children, early intervention of special children, health care of special children, individualized teaching principle and practice, behavior construction of special children, career and vocational education of special children, communication and sign language for deaf children, Braille, special education management, special education-related services, rehabilitation training (language and movement) and teaching. After graduation, students mainly serve as special education teachers in special education schools, ordinary primary and secondary schools in regular classes, or as special education professionals in special education resource classrooms opened in ordinary schools; You can also be a rehabilitation trainer or teacher in rehabilitation institutions and social welfare institutions for the disabled.
