White bear on the ice and snow in the north

Polar bears live on the southern edge of the North Pole, where there are large pieces of ice floes. Always close to the ocean, pieces of broken ice floes and seals come here to breed. Polar bears feed on seals, especially ringed seals. They often lie on the ice next to the seal vent and wait, or when the seal climbs to the ice to rest, they will sneak up on it.

Polar bears travel 70 kilometers in search of food. They look for food every day. When the sea freezes in winter and the area of floating ice expands, they will migrate to the south and return to the north in summer. In early winter, the mother bear won't wander around. She will dig a hole in the snow and give birth to 2-3 PANDA KID in the hole.

The mother bear's milk contains a lot of fat. With such rich nutrition, PANDA KID will grow up quickly and keep her body temperature. In March or April, they come out of their snow-covered homes and stay with their mothers for another two years.

Polar bears are very adapted to life in cold regions. Their white fur is the same color as ice and snow, easy to disguise, thick and waterproof. The fat layer under the skin can keep warm. Every part of the polar bear's body is covered with fur except its nose, feet and soles. Furry soles help to increase friction and will not slip when walking on ice.

Hunting polar bears is now strictly controlled. Inuit, the indigenous people in the Arctic, still kill a small number of polar bears every year. They make clothes out of polar bear hair. Except for its liver, it was poisonous because of its high content of vitamin A, and everything else was eaten.
