The National Day of Safety Education for Primary School Students is the Monday of the last week of March every year. Starting from 1996, the week of the last week of March will be designated as the "Safety Education Day" for primary and secondary school students in China, and a theme will be determined every year.

The National Day of Safety Education for Primary School Students was jointly issued by the State Education Commission, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Railways, the State Sports Commission and the Ministry of Health. Its purpose is to comprehensively and deeply promote the safety education of primary and secondary school students, vigorously reduce the incidence of all kinds of casualties, do a good job in safety protection of primary and secondary school students, and promote the healthy growth of primary and secondary school students.
