As of June 30th, 2023, the College was established in August, 1953, which is a public ordinary higher vocational college approved by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and put on record by the Ministry of Education, so Taigu Yang Kang College is not an undergraduate.

Taigu Yang Kang is the first batch of "1+X" certificate system pilot institutions of the Ministry of Education; Chairman of the Teaching Steering Committee of Shanxi Vocational Education in Health, Food and Medicine; The training base of grassroots health personnel in Shanxi Province, and the designated training base of "Shanxi Care Workers" for precision poverty alleviation.
