The main responsibilities of Hunan Provincial Education Bureau:
(a) to implement the laws and regulations of the state on education, draft local education regulations, formulate strategies, principles, policies and plans for education reform and development in the province, and organize their implementation.
(two) responsible for the overall planning and coordinated management of all kinds of education at all levels in conjunction with relevant departments.

(5) Coordinate and guide the work of general higher education, adult higher education, self-study examination of higher education and continuing education, study and put forward various standards for running higher education, basic teaching documents and evaluation standards and organize their implementation, and undertake the examination and approval of the establishment, adjustment and renaming of ordinary higher education institutions in accordance with relevant regulations.

(eight) to guide the ideological and political work, moral education, sports health art education and national defense education in schools of all levels and types, to guide the party building, propaganda, United front and group work in colleges and universities, and to guide and coordinate the stability of the education system.
(nine) according to the provisions of the "Teachers Law", within the scope of duties, in charge of the work of teachers in the province; Implement the qualification standards for teachers at all levels and, jointly with relevant departments, study and formulate the compilation standards for schools at all levels in the province; Guide the construction of talent team in the education system.
(ten) overall management of all kinds of higher and secondary education entrance examination and school work, academic work; Formulate enrollment plans of various colleges and universities in conjunction with relevant departments; Participate in the formulation of employment policies for college graduates and guide ordinary colleges and universities to carry out employment and entrepreneurship for college students.
