Medical University is one of the 22 medical colleges established earlier in China, and it is also one of the first eight medical colleges in China to recruit foreign students, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students and overseas Chinese students.

The school is also one of the first batch of 30 universities approved by the Ministry of Education with the qualification to recruit international students majoring in clinical medicine (English teaching), and it is the center of medical education, medical research, clinical medical treatment and preventive health care in Guangxi.

In May 2020, it became a university jointly established by the People's Government of the Autonomous Region and the National Health and Wellness Committee. 202 1 became a national first-class university supported by the party Committee and government of the autonomous region.

Guangxi Medical University was founded in1934165438+1October 2 1, located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi.

The school was formerly known as Guangxi Provincial Medical College. Approved by the Ministry of Education, it was renamed Guangxi Medical College in June1949+065438+1October, Guangxi Medical College in April 1953 and Guangxi Medical University in May 1996.

Since the school was founded, it has been relocated seven times, among which the school was moved to Guilin on 1940, and from Guilin to Nanning in July, 1954.
