Interdisciplinary doctoral examination
A doctor without a master's degree also needs to achieve the same academic ability. For example, some training units require:

Those who have obtained a bachelor's degree for six years or more (from the date of obtaining a bachelor's degree to the date of doctoral admission) must have (1) two articles by the first author (included by SCI or EI), or have won awards at or above the provincial level as the main personnel's scientific research achievements, (2) have studied five master's courses similar to the reported disciplines in a university recognized by the state and passed the examination, and (3) have been engaged in disciplines.

After holding a master's degree, the interdisciplinary doctoral examination does not need to meet the requirements of the same academic ability. For example, MBA graduates can apply for the doctor of science of that year.
