What are the living habits of mango elephants?
It occurs once a year in Yunnan 1 generation, and overwinters as an adult in abandoned stone, bark crack and old tree hole. In March of the following year, overwintering adults began to feed and mate. Eggs are laid on the epidermis of young fruits and eaten into the stone after hatching. Larvae develop, pupate and appear in the nucleus. Mature larvae can also shed fruit from fallen fruits and pupate. Larval stage is about 40 days, and pupal stage is about 9 days. A large number of new adults appeared from June to July, and began to overwinter at the end of September.
