Wuding No.1 Middle School is one of the earliest middle schools in Chuxiong. In 1930s, it was once a key middle school in Yunnan Province. The school leaders and the teachers and students of the whole school have gone through hardships, overcome difficulties, raise funds and repair the school buildings, and the school can barely survive.

In the fourteen years before liberation, due to the continuous war, lack of materials, financial difficulties, poor equipment and the twists and turns of the school, the development was slow and the scale was very small.
