The Department of Education, where the major of Pedagogy Principles is located, is one of the earliest departments established in Yunnan Normal University. Its predecessor was the Department of Education of National Southwest Associated University, which was founded in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period 1938. The Department of Education consists of teaching institutions and research platforms, such as the Department of Education, the Department of Psychology, the College of Preschool Education, the Department of Special Education, the College of Teacher Education, the Key Laboratory of Ethnic Education Informatization, the Yunnan Academy of Educational Sciences, and the Institute of Higher Education and Regional Development.
