Xiangya Medical College of Central South University is an affiliated college of Central South University. It is one of the first batch of pilot universities in China, one of the first batch of university medical schools jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, one of the ten subordinate comprehensive university medical schools jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, one of the two universities in China where the World Federation of Medical Education and the International Committee of Medical Education are conducting two standard pilot studies at the same time, and one of the first batch of five universities to pilot eight-year medical education.

The School of Medicine of Central South University has five directly affiliated hospitals (Xiangya Hospital, Xiangya Second Hospital, Xiangya Third Hospital, Xiangya Stomatological Hospital and Xiangya Fifth Hospital) and four non-directly affiliated hospitals (Hunan Cancer Hospital, Haikou People's Hospital, Zhuzhou Central Hospital and Aier Ophthalmology).

Among them, Xiangya Hospital (No.1 Clinical College), Xiangya Second Hospital (No.2 Clinical College) and Xiangya Third Hospital (No.3 Clinical College) are all "Top 100 Hospitals" in China, and Xiangya Second Hospital won the National "May 1 Labor Medal" on 20/0/0.
