What does graduation mean? Graduation refers to the situation that a student with a formal student status has completed all the courses specified in the teaching plan and failed in one or more major courses (including graduation thesis and graduation design).
Graduates will be awarded a certificate of completion by the school. Students who have obtained the certificate of completion can generally apply to the school for a make-up exam after graduation 1 year, and those who pass the make-up exam will be awarded a diploma (see the specific regulations of each school for details).
Does the certificate of completion count as academic qualifications? Certificate of completion is not academic qualification.
According to Article 5 of the Interim Provisions on the Administration of Academic Certificates of General Higher Education, academic certificates of general higher education are divided into graduation certificates, graduation certificates and specialist certificates. Among them, the certificate of completion is a proof that you have participated in the relevant learning process, which does not represent academic qualifications, nor is it a diploma system recognized by the education department. It is only a graduation method recognized by the education department, which means that the certificate of completion can only prove that you have participated in the study, but did not meet the graduation standards required by the learning content, so the school only issues the certificate of completion. According to the spirit of "Reply of the General Office of the Ministry of Education on the Academic Qualifications of College Graduates" and other related documents, undergraduate graduates are equivalent to college graduates and treated as college graduates.
