Lanzhou University of Arts and Science is an ordinary undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education, 20 13. Its predecessor was Gansu Education College founded by 1950 and Gansu Union University founded by 1985, and it was merged into Gansu Art School on 201/.

The school is the first batch of pilot institutions for transformation and development in Gansu Province. The Communication University of China, designated by the Ministry of Education, provides counterpart support to western universities, which is the training base for non-hereditary population of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It is the first "civilized campus" in Gansu Province and a "model college" for Party building in Gansu Province in the new period.
