Capital Normal University was founded in 1954, and its history can be traced back to Tongzhou Normal University. It was founded in 1905, formerly known as Beijing Normal University. After Renmin University of North China, the departments of philosophy, politics, religion, Beijing Teachers College of Workers and Peasants and Beijing Teachers College of Physical Education merged one after another. 1964, Beijing Institute of Art and Beijing Normal University were partially merged; 65438-0992 Beijing Normal University, Beijing Normal University Branch and Beijing Union University Foreign Language Teachers College merged to form Capital Normal University.
