Nanchang Hangkong University, located in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, is a multidisciplinary university with coordinated development of engineering, science, literature, management, economics, law, teaching and literature. It is a university jointly established by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government and the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. The Ministry of Education implements the education and training plan for outstanding engineers, the scholarship institutions of China government for overseas students, and the first-class discipline construction institutions in Jiangxi province. It recommended excellent undergraduates.

The school was founded in Hankou Aviation Industry School on 1952, and was renamed as Zhongnan No.1 Industrial School on 1953. 1954 moved to Nanchang, and 1956 was renamed Nanchang Aviation Industry School. 1978 was renamed Nanchang Institute of Aviation Industry. In 2007, it was renamed Nanchang Hangkong University.
