Tracing to the Source and Reading Classics —— Thoughts on Reading Ye Shengtao's Essays on Chinese Education

When I mentioned Mr. Ye Shengtao, I immediately thought of his story of "Little Sir, Great Achievements" and his famous saying-"Teaching is for not teaching". As for Mr. Ye Shengtao's books on Chinese education, I haven't read any of them, which makes me feel ashamed.

At the beginning of September, Teacher Zhao Peili asked the studio members to read Ye Shengtao's Essays on Chinese Education, so that teachers could learn professional nutrition from this classic treatise on Chinese education and read, think, practice and write constantly in dialogue, thus helping their Chinese classroom teaching to be more effective and calm.

After I received the book online, I couldn't wait to open it, holding this heavy classic book (540 pages, 526,000 words) in my hand. I secretly made up my mind to concentrate on reading in my daily life, insist on recording my own experiences and strive to grow myself. Now let me read the preface of the book and Mr. Ye Shengtao's Twenty Rhymes of Chinese Teaching to talk about my simple thinking and gains.

I. Introduction

Mr. Lv Shuxiang once said: "In 10, more than 2,700 class hours were spent on learning mother tongue, but most of them failed. Isn't it strange! " This sentence by Mr. Lu is worth pondering by every Chinese educator. Why is our Chinese class so inefficient? I think we can find the answer from Mr. Ye Shengtao's book.

1. Two core issues of China's educational thought

In the preface, Mr. Lv Shuxiang said, "Anyone who cares about the current problems of education in China should read this collection". Because this anthology is written according to Mr. Ye Shengtao's more than 60 years of Chinese teaching, editing and publishing experience, it has important practical significance for the current Chinese education and teaching.

Two core issues of Mr. Ye Shengtao's Chinese education thought: First, the nature of Chinese subject: Chinese is a tool and an indispensable tool in daily life. Writing is a tool for recording language, and language is a tool for exchanging ideas, so everyone should learn writing, learning Chinese and learning Chinese well. Tools are not the ultimate goal, but the medium to help us achieve our goals.

The second is about the task of Chinese teaching. Teaching Chinese is to help students form a good habit of using Chinese. Good habits will benefit us and our students for life.

The purpose of Chinese education is not to cultivate a well-read "living bookcase", a eloquent "humanoid parrot" or a "Confucian scholar" who makes a living by teaching reading, but to make many ordinary people learn Chinese as a tool and be good at applying it to their lives.

2. Three disadvantages of Chinese teaching

In his book, Mr. Ye Shengtao pointed out three disadvantages of classical Chinese teaching, which are embodied in the following aspects:

First, in reading teaching, the content of reading is inappropriately emphasized, and the laws of Chinese itself are put in a secondary position. "Besides technical training, Chinese teaching also needs to contain educational significance." "Morality must be practiced and consciousness must be transformed into action." Chinese can not ignore the educational significance, but it is not the only subject responsible for it.

The second is to imitate a set of procedures in composition teaching. The so-called stereotyped writing spirit means not saying what you want to say, speaking in a certain tone, boasting and talking empty words, which is also a common phenomenon still existing in composition teaching at present. Mr. Ye Shengtao has a vivid description of stylized composition: "You can find out the meaning and purpose of the topic and type it according to the cavity. After a period of time, it is your skill; When you encounter a helpless topic, you can make it out of nothing, but you are quite tonal, which shows your talent. "

In composition teaching, students should be encouraged to tell the truth with innovative forms and vivid language, instead of just standing on the position of saints. This should be a beautiful scenery in our composition teaching.

Third, reading and writing are not to increase knowledge and express thoughts and feelings, but to cope with exams. Mr. Ye Shengtao has a unique view on "examination"-he has been facing an examination all his life. As far as composition is concerned, writing a letter and making a report is actually an exam, but it is usually called an exam rather than an exam. Students study composition not for temporary term exams and entrance exams, but to express their needs and skills.

If teachers can demonstrate well, persist in daily writing, apply what they have learned, and try their best to let students enjoy the pleasure of writing and then enjoy the expression of love, then Chinese may really become an inseparable part of our flesh and blood.

3. The role of teachers

The goal of Chinese teaching, in Mr. Ye Shengtao's view, mainly lies in cultivating students' various abilities: developing the ability to read books, cultivating the ability to appreciate literature and training writing skills. In order to achieve this goal, the role of teachers as guides is very important. More importantly, students' positive learning attitude is more important.

The fundamental problems of pedagogy are "teaching" and "learning", "speaking" and "listening". Mr. Ye Shengtao believes that teaching is to "teach" students to "learn", and the role of teachers is to teach students how to learn and how to benefit from life. Its ultimate goal is "to realize the goal that students can study and solve problems by themselves without teaching" and "to open a book and understand it by themselves, and to write a book by themselves and be able to combine it". This is the road to teaching.

"Teaching means not teaching." It is the core view of Mr. Ye Shengtao. "Teaching" embodies the leading role of teachers, while "not teaching" embodies the main role of students. Through teachers' wonderful and interesting lectures, students' innovative ability is cultivated, so that they can discover themselves and see themselves in the process of practice, and truly realize that they can learn and write independently without waiting for teachers to speak and change. If the teacher's training must achieve these two points, that is the success of teaching.

Second, the twenty rhymes of Chinese teaching

In "Twenty Rhymes of Chinese Teaching", Mr. Ye Shengtao described his educational feelings and expounded the true meaning of Chinese teaching in plain language. ? Teaching is also a multi-skill, the application cares about people, which is good and which is useless, and you can test your health. ? By teaching the details, only a glimpse of Chen can make the three evils reach out. ?

The above four rhymes are general teaching methods. To judge which teaching method is good, you need to test it yourself. Teachers should keep in mind the idea that "teaching is to achieve the purpose of not teaching". In teaching, to "talk" about the essence of prompting students to "oppose the three evils", we must stimulate students' initiative and creativity and guide them to reason and explore as much as possible.

Dont Ask For Help's solution, crazy people don't follow. Is it hard to understand? Concentrate on writing this article. The author thinks that there is a way, so follow the way to know the truth. The author has a good mind, and entry begins with relatives. A word should not be ignored, the language explains its spirit, but the text is the same, such as Liang and Jin. Students are making progress, and their wisdom and morality are growing. The arts and sciences are also clear, and the learning skills are gradually pure.

These eight rhymes are an exploration of reading teaching, emphasizing that Chinese teaching should pay attention to intensive reading, master the author's thoughts and read in its realm, so as to be emotionally integrated with the author and truly understand the thoughts, feelings and social life reflected by the author. When reading, you should choose your words carefully and have a subtle experience. Only in this way can we communicate with the author. The article is a bridge and ferry for readers to understand the author. Along this road, students will constantly improve their wisdom and virtue. After repeated practice makes it a habit, the organization of the article can be understood and the skills can be gradually improved.

If you give an order to express yourself, two things will be clear. If many people are good at inducing, your achievements will be incoherent. When you need it urgently, you can express your meaning and the situation will be refreshed. Communication is very different. A pleasure in my career, because literature is not bitter, honesty is the most expensive, and deliberation is boring.

These six rhymes are an exploration of composition teaching. It contains two meanings: first, teachers should consider students' writing needs and know how to write well in order to express their thoughts clearly; The second is to stimulate students' interest in writing, make students love practice and realize that writing is not a hard thing. The most valuable thing is sincerity, careful deliberation and repeated revision. So encouraging and guiding students, students' achievements will be infinite.

From Mr. Ye Shengtao's exposition, we can know that the source of students' writing materials is the colorful life world. If students want to cook rice, they should cultivate their eyes, watch life, wake up their ears, observe life over time, know life, get rich feelings, and then feel and form words. This writing is the natural expression of students, and the words written are also sincere language.

Often say peers, shallow and diligent. We are willing to encourage each other and serve the new people in the future.

The last two sentences rhyme with Mr. Ye Shengtao's ardent expectations for Chinese teachers, encouraging Chinese educators to constantly explore and innovate in order to cultivate talents needed by the new era.

Mr. Ye Shengtao's Essay Preface to Chinese Education and Twenty Rhymes of Chinese Teaching contain Mr. Ye's wise educational thoughts, his deep affection for Chinese education and profound educational theories, which enlighten our wisdom and thinking, and are worth our Chinese teachers' repeated study and research.

Let Mr. Wang's brilliant educational thought revise and guide our daily Chinese education and teaching work!
