Legal analysis: The Education Bureau consists of offices, policies and regulations department, development planning department, property infrastructure department, basic education department, vocational and adult education department, scientific research department, sports health and art department, higher education department, education supervision department, ideological and political education department, security department, organization and personnel department, party committee office, discipline inspection commission office (supervision office, audit office) and retired cadres management office.

Legal basis: Article 15 of the Education Law of the People's Republic of China. The education administrative department of the State Council is in charge of the national education, making overall plans and coordinating the management of the national education.

The education administrative departments of local people's governments at or above the county level shall be in charge of education within their respective administrative areas.
