Why is the Beijing Museum of Chinese History called the National Museum?
The National Museum of China is located in the east of Tiananmen Square in China. It used to be adjacent to the Museum of Chinese History and the Museum of Chinese Revolution.

The predecessor of the Chinese History Museum was the "National History Museum Preparatory Office" established by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China in imperial academy on July 9, 2002.

Through the entrance and into the central hall, the whole building is divided into two parts, north and south, which are symmetrical to each other.
