Introduction of Yangtze University
Yangtze University, located in Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, is a key university in Hubei Province, a national "Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in the Midwest" and a "National First-class University Construction University" in Hubei Province.
It is also a university jointly established by Hubei Provincial People's Government, China Petroleum and Natural Gas Corporation, China Petrochemical Corporation and China Offshore Oil Corporation, Hubei Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Hubei Provincial Department of Education and Jingzhou City.
It was selected into the excellent engineer education and training program of the Ministry of Education, the excellent agricultural and forestry talents education and training program, the excellent doctor education and training program, the new engineering research and practice project, the scholarship receiving institution of China government for overseas students, and the national demonstration university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform.
In April 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was formed by the merger of Jianghan Petroleum College, Hubei Agricultural College, Jingzhou Normal College and Hubei Medical College of Health Workers.
The former Jianghan Petroleum Institute, formerly known as Beijing Institute of Petroleum Technology founded by 1950, began to hold general undergraduate education at 1978, and was affiliated to China Petroleum and Natural Gas Corporation. Since 2000, it has been jointly established by the central and local governments and placed under the management of Hubei Province. Hubei Agricultural College, Jingzhou Teachers College and Hubei Medical College of Health Workers were founded in 1977, 1936 and195/year respectively.
As of May 2023, the school covers an area of 5 1 18 mu, the building area of the school building is1127,500 square meters, the fixed assets are 3312 million yuan, the total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 839 million yuan, and the library has 4.34 million paper books. There are 3 post-doctoral research stations, 3 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, 38 first-class disciplines authorized by master degree and 9 professional master degree authorized categories/kloc-0.
